The Arc of Benton County is excited to present a benefit art sale featuring works by local artist Mike Bergen, along with some artwork created by talented county residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The sale takes place on Saturday, September 14th from 4:30pm-7:00pm at The Corvallis Museum, concluding a three-week-long exhibition at this location. All proceeds from this event will support The Arc of Benton County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people in our area with IDD.
The benefit art sale combines the creative visions of Mike Bergen, celebrated for his drawings and paintings of Pacific Northwest landmarks and whimsical still life, with a collective of Benton County artists whose work reflects their individual talents. Bergen graciously donated part of his collection to The Arc to raise funds for our advocacy and programs.
Community members can attend this event for free, and admission comes with one free glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres.
Those unfamiliar with Bergen’s work will be delighted with his depictions of animals and familiar landscapes. Since retiring from the Air Force, he has dedicated his time to artistic expression. “I paint every day,” he says. “I usually get up at about 5:30am. I paint for about an hour and a half in the morning. Then, I spend the rest of the day framing and mounting.”
